I like shooting at the outdoor stage at Mohawk. The venue's three different levels can make for some interesting compositions. Tonight's Domino Records showcase was great. A particular highlight for me was seeing Hamilton Leithauser (lead singer of The Walkmen) performing his solo material. Man, that guy gets intense. The shots below also include the wonderful Matthew E. White and Laura Marling.

In the past, I've covered a lot of panels and shows during SXSW, but this year I got to shoot a few movie premieres. While mostly low-budget indie films, it was a real treat to shoot and talk to some people whose work I genuinely admire, particularly Reggie Watts (Comeday Bang! Bang!, soon-to-be band leader on The Late Late Show) and Mark Duplass (The League, The One I Love).

I shot quite a few panels during this year's SXSW. As I've mentioned before, taking pictures of people talking under convention center lighting is never going to be too much fun for a photographer, but I do enjoy the experience of being there and listening to what the speakers have to say. Here is just a small selection from this year's panels, which include the following people...
Also, while not technically from a panel, I've included some shots of comedian James Adomian, who presented this year's Interactive Awards. I'd seen him at last year's SXSW where he instantly became one of my favorite comedians. While I'm a wee bit disappointed I didn't get to see him perform a set this year, seeing him host the awards and then having the opportunity to photograph him afterwards was a great consolation.

First wedding of 2015! And I don't think I could've asked for a nicer bride and groom to shoot. Taryn and Shane were one of the most easy-going and relaxed couples I've worked with in a while, traits they shared with their entire wedding party. It's always immensely fun to shoot a group of people who have such great chemistry together.
I'd also like to give a little shout out to wedding coordinator Rachel Stepanov of The Fairytale Effect. Wedding coordinators have such an incredibly hard and stressful job to do, but Rachel handled this one with seemingly effortless grace and professionalism. My photography partner and I felt like we were well taken care of. Highly recommended!
I'd shot some promo photos for Micky's band's new album earlier this year, and I was delighted to be able to shoot he and Cindi's wedding at the lovely House On The Hill in Austin. It was perhaps one of the most intimate ceremonies that I've shot in a while, but certainly very charming.
